Teenage Girl Who Creates Teddy Bears For Children of Fallen Officers Receiving Death Threats

by Rich WelshJune 23, 2020 in Politics00 SHARES0 VIEWS Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Megan created Blue Line Bears when she was only 14-years-old.  Being the daughter of a cop, Megan started taking the uniforms of fallen officers and creatively turned them into keepsake teddy bears for kids who’ve lost a parent who was a law enforcement officer.https://lockerdome.com/lad/11388557595982694?pubid=ld-4383-9197&pubo=https%3A%2F%2Fdjhjmedia.com&rid=&width=617

This is a sweet kid to be thinking of other children who have lost a parent in the line of duty.

Now, thanks to the Marxists,  Megan is getting death threats because of her support of the law enforcement community.

‘THEY AIN’T NOTHING BUT DEVILS’: Muhammad Ali's son says father would have HATED ‘racist’ BLM movement

Muhammad Ali’s only biological son says his father would have despised the “racist” Black Lives Matter movement and endorsed all races, never singling “anyone out.”

‘‘My father would have said, ‘They ain’t nothing but devils.’ My father said, ‘all lives matter,’” Muhammad Ali Jr. told the New York Post.

The 47-year-old son of the legendary boxer, who is often noted as a cultural trailblazer for black Americans, did not stop at connecting his father to the “all lives matter” position. He also said Ali would have supported President Donald Trump — the late athlete endorsed both Democrat Jimmy Carter and Republican Ronald Reagan when they were running for the presidency.

Ali Jr. himself blasted the Black Lives Matter movement as “racist.”

Irish people help raise millions for Native Americans hit by the pandemic to repay century old favor

Positive Outlooks Blog

Published by Jake L. | Positive Outlooks

In the darkest time of the COVID-19 pandemic, the odds are stacked against the Navajo and Hopi families. Native Americans are in a troubled spot as the world fights against the virus. The disparity of healthcare services and the growing healthy inequity puts Native American citizens at higher risk of contracting liver and respiratory diseases, among many other illnesses.YouTube

Today, Navajo and Hopi share the same dilemma with the rest of Native American families in the time of the COVID-19 crisis. Tribes in the west suffer from overcrowded houses and lack of water supplies. Some houses even shelter up to 15 members because of limited housing. “The overcrowded home situation is at least 16 times the national average,” said Kevin J. Allis, CEO of the National Congress of American Indians.

We’ve already seen a spike in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases where areas with Native American families are living in one house. Despite the state’s campaign of social distancing and regular washing of hands, families in these areas cannot avoid close-proximity contact because of their living arrangements. Studies also show that 30% of homes in the Navajo nation don’t have running water.GoFundMe

$10 billion of government funding is currently allocated for relief programs. But the animosity between Indian groups and the government remains over when and how the money will be distributed. Allis explains how tribal leaders are doing their best to keep their communities safe from the virus.

The Navajos have instituted strict curfews, checkpoints, and mass testing to curb the rising number of cases. However, not all people own mobile phones. When someone tests positive, authorities have a hard time tracking them down.

Now that the world has seen the plight of Native Americans, a GoFundMe campaign was created to raise money for families of the Navajo and Hopi citizens. The news got around, and donations from Irish people began pouring.CBS This Morning

What drove the Irish people all the way across the Atlantic to help? It was an act of gratitude for what the Native Americans have done to help Ireland during the “Great Hunger” of the 1800s. Let’s take a quick history review.

Back in the mid-1800s, the Choctaw Nation provided $170 (equivalent to $5000 today) to the Irish. The most moving part of the Choctaw Nation’s generosity was how 60,000 Native Americans suffered through the Trail of Tears. Despite the hardships and anguish they already experienced, they continued with their donations, helping thousands of people in Ireland live through the famine.YouTube

One hundred seventy-three years later, Ireland has still never forgotten the kindness extended by the Navajo to their country. “From Ireland, 170 years later, the favour is returned,” Pat Hayes, an Irish donor, wrote in a message. “To our Native American brothers and sisters in your moment of hardship!”

The fundraising page is now both flooded with both heartfelt messages and donations. “Yá’át’ ééh from Ireland. The Native American donation all those years ago was never forgotten. There have been songs written about your generosity,” one comment said. “I am glad to be able to return the favour in some small part.

Almost 44,000 people were able to donate to the GoFundMe campaign, with nearly $ 2.4 million out of the $ 3 million target.GoFundMe

The GoFundMe page was updated with this message: “Hi folks! My apologies on a delayed update! My last update was 11 days ago, and I reported then that we had broken the $1 million fundraising mark. Well we have now broken the $2 million mark, in good part due to a beautiful act of solidarity from our friends in Ireland, who remember the kindness shown to them by our Choctaw brothers and sisters, who sent them aid during the great potato famine in 1847. Thank you so much, Ireland!!!”

Native American families have lost so much in the time of the pandemic. The Navajo and Hopi tribes have lost elders and children to the disease. “In moments like these, we are grateful for the love and support we have received from all around the world,” Vanessa Tulley, one of the organizers, said.

“Acts of kindness from indigenous ancestors passed being reciprocated nearly 200 years later through blood memory and inter-connectedness. Thank you, IRELAND, for showing solidarity and being here for us.”

The amount of donations support by the Native Americans is proof that we cannot beat COVID-19 alone. Acts like these are what bring us closer together, restoring the faith we have for humanity.

In 1985, the world’s biggest artists came together and recorded the mega hit WE ARE THE WORLD. The legendary king of pop Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie wrote the song that became an instant classic.

From the USA For Africa website:

“On January 28, 1985, the music industry and the world came together in an unprecedented outpouring of generosity in response to the tragic famine wreaking havoc in Africa at the time. The biggest names in music ‘checked their egos at the door’ to create what was and still is a worldwide phenomenon. The recording of We Are The World.”

From Channel Aid:

“In 2018 we recorded the remake of “We are the World” together with YouTube Music and 33 artists at the legendary Capitol Studios at Studio A in Los Angeles. It was a very special feeling for everyone. We wanted to show that the online world stands together for something special. None of us would have thought that exactly this song would be so important again 15 months later.

The Covid-19 has reached us. We all have to stay at home. We all have to limit ourselves to prevent bad things happening and to save lives. Because of this we have decided to show solidarity with all the artists + Allie Sherlock from 2018!”

United States coronavirus crisis for Navajo Nation

Dear Kitty. Some blog

This 15 April 2020 video from the USA says about itself:

How Navajo Nation’s water and health crisis is amplified by COVID-19

For the Navajo Nation, the COVID-19 crisis is compounding systemic issues on the reservation like lack of water and healthcare access that existed long before the outbreak.

“The Navajo Nation experiences some of the highest rates of water poverty in the United States,” which makes it difficult to take basic precautionary measures like washing your hands, says Navajo artist and activist Emma Robbins. Robbins is also director of the Navajo Water Project, a community-managed utility alternative that brings running water to homes without access to water or sewer lines. She says mutual aid efforts like these are crucial for community survival during this crisis, but adds that the government needs to step up.

“I’ve seen many Navajo women step up and fight for communities. … We are…

Sign the Petition: help support rape survivor Brittney Smith

Brittany smith started this petition to Alabama Governor

Let me introduce myself. My name is Brittany and I am being accused of shooting my rapist in self-defense, which could send me to prison for life. I’m a mother of four beautiful, amazing children. They are the best thing that could ever have happened to me and they are what keep me going.

In January of 2018, I agreed to let an acquaintance named Todd sleep on my couch for the night in order to escape a snow storm. Todd ended up holding me captive in my own home for hours. He threatened to kill me if I tried to contact anyone, brutally raped me multiple times, tried to break my neck and choked me until I urinated on myself and went unconscious more than once. He beat me so badly my fingernails were ripped off, and I had 33 visible wounds on my body, not to mention internal injuries.

Eventually I was able to get a message to my brother who came to help. Todd attacked him, and was choking my brother to the point where i feared for my life, while yelling that he was going to kill all of us.

Todd was shot. My brother and I called 911 and did CPR and chest compressions for 20 minutes waiting on someone to get there. When the police arrived, they made us stop the CPR.

The next day I was arrested for murder.

Afterwards, I found out Todd had been arrested 80 times, many of them for domestic violence. While they were married, he bit his wife’s face, broke her nose, ribs and even her jaw. He was a very violent man. He was a monster. A predator to women.

I am facing life in prison, away from my children, for defending myself. I am innocent. I need your help. Up until this point I have only been able to acquire court appointed attorneys that do not have the experience with Stand Your Ground cases that I so desperately need.

My children are my reason for living, and I don’t know if I’ll survive being separated from them. Please, my life depends on your support.

Woman with dementia records “My Way” with caregiver and hits the charts

Chart-topping musicians can come from all backgrounds, but this latest musical sensation is certainly a sweet surprise. Margaret Mackie, an 83-year-old woman with dementia and resident of Northcare Suites Care Home, a senior care facility in in Edinburgh, Scotland, just recorded a heartwarming version of “My Way” with her caregiver – and it’s a certified hit!
Photo by Jamie Lee Morley Music | Facebook

Mackie’s journey to the top of the charts began at her care home’s Christmas party, where she sang the Frank Sinatra song with her caregiver, Jamie Lee Morley. The caregiver and part time musician never thought he would be working in a senior care facility.

But the past few months in the senior care facility and caring for Margaret have been life changing. He posted a video of his duet with Mackie on YouTube, saying “Every day in work we sing this song together and I do whatever I can to brighten her day and all the other residents.”

Looking back, Morley thought he was listening to the radio when he first heard Mackie singing. He was walking past a lounge at the senior care facility when he heard a lovely and on-pitch rendition of Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.” “I was stunned,” Morley said. “I’ve loved singing and music since I was a little lad, and I could just tell that Margaret did, too. Her voice is amazing.”
Jamie Lee Morley | YouTube

A former whiskey distillery worker, Mackie rarely remembers one day from the next. Jordan Simpson, manager of the senior care facility, said that while dementia made Mackie forgetful, she still recalls the lyrics of her favorite songs.

Simpson said, “Singing is something that makes Margaret happy. She has a great singing voice. And although she has dementia, she has a great memory for song lyrics. She and Jamie sing together most of the day.”

The caregiver began to use music as part of Mackie’s therapy. “You can just see the change of the look in her face when she starts singing or she hears music that she likes. She comes alive when she sings, and she looks so happy, it is beautiful to see. It is the power of music.”

Mackie’s daughter Mairi Hunter added, “It has brought her back to life. The dementia was taking a hold of her and she was getting sad with it, but this has given her a new lease of life. It’s quite remarkable how she can remember the lyrics. It just seems to come back to her.”

Jamie Lee Morley | YouTube

The song choice for the Christmas party also holds personal meaning for Morley. “For those close to me will know this was my Grandad’s funeral song who our family sadly lost to Alzheimer’s last year. I’ve never really sang this song as it’s a classic, but I knew how much Margaret and her family would love it.”

He recalled being so moved as he sang with Mackie. “But what an amazing few months it has been. Last night I was asked to sing and host the Christmas party for the residents… and I have never been so emotional on stage my entire time of doing what I love.”

After the video of the duet surprisingly, but happily, went viral, Morley took Mackie to a studio to make a professional record of the song. “It was the first time that she’d been in the studio, but was like she had done it a 100 times before. She’s got such an amazing voice. The fact that she can do that while living with dementia is mind-blowing. It’s just crazy,” said Morley.

Photo by Jamie Lee Morley Music | Facebook

Now, not only is Mackie a hit singer in her 80s and famous beyond her senior care facility, the song is also helping others with proceeds going to Dementia UK and Alzheimer’s Society. Morley remarked, “For her to get up on stage at her age and have so much courage and fight and sing so beautifully absolutely blew my mind. This is a moment I will never ever forget. Be more like Margaret and live each day to the full and sing your absolute hearts out!”

Mackie, on the other hand, said she wouldn’t mind recording another song, and even joked that she may record an entire album! She related, “It’s great seeing your face in all those newspapers. It’s nice to have a busy life like that, every now and then.”

The hit single is moving fast on the download charts in the UK, climbing ahead of world-known artists such as Ed Sheeran and James Blunt. The music comes with a video of the duo’s trip to the recording studio.

According to Morley, “This video isn’t about being pitch perfect but it’s about this amazing woman doing what she loves the most, which is singing. I feel so blessed to have been able to get her up to sing with me. A moment in my heart forever.”

Available on Apple, Amazon, and Google Play, the single is an inspiration to people with loved ones afflicted with dementia. “It’s been a very special moment for me and Margaret. The world needs this type of happy stories with all the bad stuff going on in the world.”

Morley added, “For someone with dementia, it fascinates me how amazing music makes her feel. She becomes a different person. It’s just incredible. She has definitely got the music in her blood. She is an inspiration to so many people — especially me! I just love her.”

Man Stops Traffic to Save a Tiny Kitten in the Middle of Busy Road.. (with Updates)

lovemeow.com
Amy Bojo

A man stopped traffic to save a tiny kitten in the middle of a busy highway while others kept driving by.

On April 27, a tiny ginger kitten was spotted by Lion Rock Tunnel in Hong Kong. Due to rush hour, there was a lot of traffic on the road, and the kitten nearly got run over.

The kitten froze in fear in the middle of the road, and many drivers just drove around him until a kind-hearted man named Kevin (Kwok Kin Wai) sprang to help.

Kevin was driving a moped when he saw the kitten. He knew that if no one would stop to help, the kitten would not be able to survive much longer. As he saw cars rushing by the tiny defenseless feline, his heart dropped and he decided to do something right then.

He managed to pull his scooter over on the side of the busy road, and carefully signaled the incoming vehicles to slow down and stop as he approached the kitten.

He then gently picked up the tiny ginger furball and sprinted back to his bike.

The entire rescue was captured by a dashcam and the video was later shared on social media.

Meanwhile, Kevin had sent out a post on Facebook, hoping to find the kitten’s rightful owner.

No one came forward to claim the kitten, but Kevin was able to get in touch with a volunteer from a local rescue group to help foster the kitten and get the little fur buddy the medical attention he needed.

Kwok Kin Wai Kevin

Kevin has never had a cat before but he believes that it is fate that brought them together.

“After discussing with the family, we would like to adopt the kitten and let our fate continue on,” Kevin said. “The kitten is named Lion because he was found by the tunnel at Lion Rock.”

Kwok Kin Wai Kevin

Little Lion is currently in foster care while Kevin is getting his home renovated and kitty proofed. Once the renovation is complete, they will officially welcome their new addition to their family.

Kevin met with a volunteer from a local rescue group who found little Lion a foster home.

Firefighter Does Sweetest Thing For Two Terrified Donkeys Fleeing Wildfires

thedodo.com

6-7 minutes

Firefighter Chris Harvey and Sacramento Fire Chief Gary Loesch were driving down Honey Run Road in Paradise, California, on Saturday when they came across something entirely unexpected.

Just days before, the deadly Camp Fire had ripped through the Sierra Nevada foothill community of Paradise, leaving behind the charred remains of homes and husks of cars. The fast-moving blaze had claimed both human and animal lives, transforming a town of retirees and young families into something eerily deserted. Or so they thought.
While en route to investigate an accident caused by a falling tree, Harvey and Loesch spotted two weary animals emerging from the smoke.

The donkeys were slowly hobbling down the center of the road in the opposite direction, and it was clear to Harvey that they were very lost.

“We pulled over to let them pass, and saw that they looked very tired, worn out and thirsty,” Harvey told The Dodo. “I tried to give them some water in my hand from a water bottle, but it kept spilling out.”

Harvey knew that after what the donkeys had been through the animals needed more than a few sips of water, so he grabbed the apples out of his and Loesch’s sack lunches and fed them to the donkeys.

Immediately, Harvey could see the difference that his little act of kindness made to the survivors.

“They ate the apples quickly and seemed grateful for the snack,” Harvey said. “We called base camp and had them dispatch animal control officers to get the donkeys.”

Harvey and Loesch waited with the donkeys until they were safely in the care of animal control. Though it is unknown whether the donkeys will be able to reunite with their family, their rescue is a ray of hope when people need it most.

Josh Groban’s New Song is all about having to find the light during the darkest times of life

positiveoutlooksblog.com

There will be times in life that you will feel alone regardless of the number of people around you. There will be times in which you would ask yourself, ‘what are you here for?’ And there will definitely be countless of times that problems would overwhelm you.

If you have already felt these ‘unwanted’ emotions, well I’ve got news for you! You are not alone! You are not the only one in this world who feels lonely for a reason you cannot simply put your fingers on.

Josh Groban, the 37-year-old multi-awarded music artist best known for his debut performance of The Prayer with Celine Dion, knows how it’s like to feel lost in life. Though the gifted music artist did not further elaborate on it, Josh Groban chose to illustrate his struggles in life through his newest song, “River.”

According to PEOPLE’s Brian Bowen Smith, Josh Groban’s inspiration for his newest single is all about having to find the light during the darkest times of life.

“River.” He wanted to discuss the hardships of life and reassure his fans that they are never alone!

“Whenever we have dark times in our lives, whether we suffer from depression, or addiction, or anxiety, or even just having a really bad day, the worst is that it feels like we are suffering alone… Far too many people feel this way…

I hope this song and video are a reminder that it’s the simple steps, the smallest gestures, that can pull us back to the light. It’s those things for me. Find your ‘river.’” The singer-songwriter shared with PEOPLE.

True to his words, it is very important to find your ‘river’ when you are feeling lost. There are times in which even the simplest act of getting up, taking a bath, and going to work seem like a herculean task.

And sometimes one may feel embarrassed of sharing their feelings of incapability of accomplishing these activities for fear of being misunderstood. Josh Groban hopes that the new song he had written would inspire people like this to find their light and motivation in life.5-5.png

Josh Groban’s newest song River proves that he is not the only one who felt this way. In fact, the ‘River’ is so relatable it touched hundred thousand hearts and brought people to tears.

“This song is so touching on so many levels… I could really feel that it resonates with what I’m currently passing through. Thank you so much, Josh! God bless your soul!” Lara Specter, a Youtube user, shared how she finds the song relatable through the comment sections.

“I literally bawled my eyes out every time I listen to this. Josh’s words always give me the comfort I need to keep going, and I’m forever grateful for that.” Xoxasha, another Youtube user expressed how Josh Groban’s newest song warmed her heart and made her cry.

“‘River’ is going to help so many people, bringing hope and light to the darkness. Thank you, Josh.” Another Youtube user, Pamela Mayfield said, expressing her gratitude to Josh Groban’s powerful song.

Watch the official video of River, Josh Groban’s newest song, that is touching the hearts of people across the globe and bringing everyone who listens to it to tears. We hope you are all able to find your river! Share your thoughts under the comment section, we would love to hear how his song resonated with your heart!

Many homeless people take better care of their pets than themselves; this clinic helps them | The Seattle Times

There aren’t accurate count of the number of people with pets and no homes, but advocates estimate 5 to 10% of homeless people have pets. More than 550,000 people were counted Nationwide – more 11,600 of them in King County – on one night in 2017. That’s a lot of homeless pets, and homeless people who keep animals are often met with criticism.

Life or Lunch?

FINAL2orca_2D00_silence_2D00_friends1

Growing up, I was always taught in school not to discriminate against people based on their gender, ethnicity, class, or sexual orientation. We’re pretty much all raised with those values, right? Well, as I got older and entered adulthood, I started to realize that the same should apply to animals—who suffer greatly.

Today, countless animals face a fate similar to that of humans who were forced into slavery and subjected to other injustices: They’re tortured, abused, and neglected—just as humans once were, and, unfortunately, sometimes still are. Can you believe that over 63 billion animals in the U.S. are slaughtered every year for the food industry? They’re often confined to small stalls or cages and deprived of everything that’s natural and important to them until the day they’re sent to slaughter. How is this fair? In addition to being used for food, animals also suffer at the hands of humans for fashion, experimentation, and entertainment.
