A new poll found that Vice President Kamala Harris and former first lady Michelle Obama are voters’ top two selections for the presidential nomination in 2024, should President Joe Biden decide not to run again.
The survey of 939 registered voters, conducted by Hill-HarrisX between November 18-19, found that Harris led all potential contenders with a 13% share of support from respondents. Mrs. Obama followed closely behind with 10% of the vote. The poll had a 3.2% margin of error.
Harris notably won the largest amount of support from voters who supported Biden in 2020, with 22% of the vote.
Other candidates who received 5% or less of voters’ support included Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ), Biden Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, former Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg, and investor and former candidate for both President and New York City Mayor Andrew Yang.
Another 13% preferred a candidate not on the list. 36% responded that they were “unsure” who they would vote for if Biden decided not to seek re-election.
Members of the Biden White House have said that the president plans to run for re-election in 2024, but Biden would be 81 on Election Day 2024 and 82 upon his swearing in for a second term. Biden’s approval rating has also cratered following the administration’s mishandling of the Afghanistan withdrawal and the double-edged sword of inflation and the supply chain crisis, especially as the Christmas season approaches. Biden’s job approval rating stands at just 41.7%, according to the RealClearPolitics average of polls.
Voters are also skeptical of Biden’s ability to carry out another campaign and a second term. A Politico/Morning Consult poll found that a near-majority of voters disagreed that Biden, the oldest person ever to serve in the Oval Office, was “in good health.” Fifty percent of voters disagreed, while 40% agreed, and only 10% did not know or had no opinion.
Biden himself received his annual physical last week. His physician noted two outstanding health issues: Biden’s chronic cough, which the doctor said was “more frequent and pronounced” (though he noted that it could simply be a perception brought on by increased public scrutiny), and his walk, which the doctor said was noticeably “stiffer and less fluid.” Reports also suggest that Biden did not take a cognitive test during the exam.
Talk of Biden’s successor has gained traction in recent months, but Harris is dealing with problems of her own, including bogged down approval ratings. A recent poll found that Harris’ job approval rating sits at a paltry 28%, ten points lower than Biden’s in the same poll. Two of Harris’ aides have moved on amid the low approval rating and rumors of a rift between her and Biden.
Harris’ floundering poll numbers have led to some speculation about a possible run from Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, especially after a Politico/Morning Consult poll found he had a higher approval rating than many other members of the Biden cabinet.
A federal judge in Louisiana blocked Democrat President Joe Biden’s vaccine mandate for health care workers on Tuesday, issuing a nationwide injunction on Biden’s order.
Louisiana Western District U.S. Judge Terry Doughty’s decision follows an identical ruling Monday from Missouri U.S. District Judge Matthew Schelp, but Schelp’s decision only covered 10 states.
Doughty ruled on the lawsuit led by Republican Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry and joined by 13 other states, but Doughty added a nationwide injunction in his ruling.
“If the executive branch is allowed to usurp the power of the legislative branch to make laws, two of the three powers conferred by our Constitution would be in the same hands,” Doughty wrote. “If human nature and history teach anything, it is that civil liberties face grave risks when governments proclaim indefinite states of emergency.”
Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry praised the ruling and slammed Biden for “villainiz[ing] our healthcare heroes with his ‘jab or job’ edicts.”
“While our fight is far from over, I am pleased the Court granted preliminary relief against the President’s unconstitutional and immoral attack on not only our healthcare workers but also the access to healthcare services for our poor and elderly,” Landry said. “I will see this case through to the end – fighting every step of the way to prevent the federal government from imposing medical tyranny on our citizens and turning last year’s healthcare heroes into this year’s unemployed.”
The Biden administration has yet to publicly disclose critical information on the number of illegal immigrants in the United States, a violation of congressional guidance and a departure from federal transparency standards.
The Department of Homeland Security has given Congress its report on the number of foreign nationals who remain in the United States on expired visas, but the information has not been subsequently released to the public, the Washington Free Beacon has learned. Stretching back to at least the Obama administration, DHS has made the annual report on suspected visa overstays available to the public shortly after giving it to Congress.
Requests for comment to various agencies within DHS on the report went unanswered. Congress has mandated that the report is released online to the public, out of concern that “the large number of annual in-country alien overstays threatens national security and the integrity of legal immigration.”
The Biden administration’s failure to post the report comes as it faces an all-time high surge of migrants on the southern border. DHS has repeatedly failed to answer lawmaker questions about the criminal histories of migrants allowed entry or where those migrants have been resettled.
The failure to post the report is consistent with the administration’s dramatic changes to avoid stigmatizing the illegal immigrant population, such as banning the term alien from federal government literature, according to former immigration officials.
“For whatever reason, it appears political appointees are not disclosing a report produced by career subject matter experts,” said former Immigration and Customs Enforcement senior adviser Jon Feere. “It’s consistent with the Biden administration’s general hostility to transparency.”
“The Biden policies are a slap in the face to all State Department employees—the message is that all foreigners can ignore visa adjudicators and stay as long as they’d like,” Feere said.
Under the Immigration and Naturalization Service Data Management Improvement Act of 2000, the federal government is legally required to prepare an annual report on the number of foreign nationals who are suspected of overstaying their visas. That report must also be submitted to the House and Senate as part of a bipartisan effort to better track abuses in the country’s immigration system.
Subsequent appropriations bills for the Department of Homeland Security require the agency to post these reports publicly. For five years, starting under the Obama administration, DHS complied with the provision. The report was posted on DHS’s website each year under former president Donald Trump.
The report, officially called the Entry/Exit Overstay Report, provides an exact accounting of foreign travelers no longer authorized to live in the United States by using arrival, departure, and visa information through various agencies within DHS and the State Department. The identification of those individuals illegally living in the United States does not, importantly, necessarily result in deportation proceedings.
The Free Beacon reached out to every House and Senate office copied on the 2019 report, the last one made available to the public. None of the offices, including outspoken critics of Biden’s immigration policy such as Sens. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) and Ron Johnson (R., Wis.), would offer comment. The office of Rep. Kay Granger (R., Texas) confirmed she received the 2020 report but also would not comment on its findings.
Democrats hope to use their budget reconciliation plan to expand the number of foreigners authorized to work in the United States. Critics of the immigration provisions in the bill say they could lead to the issuance of hundreds of thousands of visas, and offer permanent residency to over half a million visa holders already in the United States.
Richard H. Ebright, an award-winning scientist and Board of Governors Professor of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Rutgers University, responded to statements made by Dr. Anthony Fauci on Sunday by repeatedly calling Fauci a “serial liar.”
Ebright responded to each of the following comments made on social media by stating, “Serial liars–like Fauci–will be serial liars.”
#1: “Fauci is such a tool. The question posed to him in congress was whether he funded gain of function research. He either did or he didn’t. He said he didn’t. New evidence suggests he did. This isn’t a scientific question.”
#2: “Fauci: ‘I’m going to be saving lives and they’re going to be lying’ – POLITICO Anyone who’s been this wrong and misled people this much should not hide behind ‘science’ especially when he has so blatantly ignored or misunderstood the ‘science’ throughout.”
#3: “Fauci then implied that Senator Ted Cruz should be prosecuted for Jan. 6. ‘And I’m going to be saving lives, and they’re going to be lying,’ he added. He also proclaimed: ‘I represent science! … And if you damage science, you’re doing something very detrimental to society…’”
Ebright criticized Fauci earlier this year after The Intercept obtained hundreds of pages of previously undisclosed information from the NIH that allegedly showed that EcoHealth Alliance used federal grant money to fund dangerous bat coronavirus research in the Chinese labs.
Ebright said [emphasis added]:
The materials show that the 2014 and 2019 NIH grants to EcoHealth with subcontracts to WIV funded gain-of-function research as defined in federal policies in effect in 2014-2017 and potential pandemic pathogen enhancement as defined in federal policies in effect in 2017-present.
The materials confirm the grants supported the construction–in Wuhan–of novel chimeric SARS-related coronaviruses that combined a spike gene from one coronavirus with genetic information from another coronavirus, and confirmed the resulting viruses could infect human cells.
The materials reveal that the resulting novel, laboratory-generated SARS-related coronaviruses also could infect mice engineered to display human receptors on cells (“humanized mice”).
The materials further reveal for the first time that one of the resulting novel, laboratory-generated SARS-related coronaviruses–one not been previously disclosed publicly–was more pathogenic to humanized mice than the starting virus from which it was constructed and thus not only was reasonably anticipated to exhibit enhanced pathogenicity, but, indeed, was *demonstrated* to exhibit enhanced pathogenicity.
The materials further reveal that the the grants also supported the construction–in Wuhan–of novel chimeric MERS-related coronaviruses that combined spike genes from one MERS-related coronavirus with genetic information from another MERS-related coronavirus.
The documents make it clear that assertions by the NIH Director, Francis Collins, and the NIAID Director, Anthony Fauci, that the NIH did not support gain-of-function research or potential pandemic pathogen enhancement at WIV are untruthful.
Ebright later criticized remarks made by former Biden COVID-19 senior adviser Andy Slavitt, saying that Slavitt was an “empty head” and a “dolt.”

President Biden may release more oil from the United States Strategic Petroleum Reserve — even though a similar move from the administration had a negligible effect on gas prices.
Amos Hochstein — the White House’s Senior Advisor for Energy Security — told CNBC’s Hadley Gamble that releasing oil from the reserve “is a tool that was available to us and will be available again.”
“Remember, this was not a 50-million-barrel release, 30 million barrels were an exchange where companies and traders can take the oil now and return it over a scheduled period of time. That means the Strategic Petroleum Reserve will be replenished,” Hochstein explained. “And therefore, we have more flexibility to be able to do this again in the future if the need arises. I think we wanted to do something that was impactful for the market and that also had the ability and the flexibility to allow us to do that again should the need arise for the American economy.”
Amid rising gas prices, the Biden administration announced plans last week to tap 50 million barrels of oil from the strategic reserve. Biden said that 32 million “will be an exchange over the next several months, releasing oil that will eventually return to the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in the years ahead,” while the other 18 million would be authorized for sale via Congress.
According to the United States Energy Information Administration, however, the United States consumed roughly 18.19 million barrels of petroleum per day in 2020 — meaning that the release of 50 million barrels would only equate to 2.5 days’ worth of consumption. As Reuters explained, “Analysts have warned an SPR release would only produce a short-term effect in the market, as it would not increase U.S. production capacity.”
Nevertheless, Democratic leadership — including Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) — praised the President’s move.
“President Biden’s announcement is good news for American families and will strengthen our economy,” he said. “Tapping the SPR will provide much-needed temporary relief at the pump and will signal to OPEC that they cannot recklessly manipulate supply to artificially inflate gas prices. Of course, the only long-term solution to rising gas prices is to continue our march to eliminate our dependence on fossil fuels and create a robust green energy economy.”
Indeed, prices have risen over the past week following volatility stemming from the omicron coronavirus variant.
“Oil prices rose on Monday, following the biggest one-day pullback since April last year late last week,” CNBC reported. “International benchmark Brent crude futures traded at $74.60 a barrel on Monday, up more than 2.5% for the session, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate futures stood at $70.62, around 3.6% higher.
After the Biden administration authorized the release of reserve oil, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm failed to demonstrate knowledge of the American economy’s daily oil consumption.
“How many barrels of oil does the U.S. consume per day?” asked a reporter during a press briefing.
“I don’t have that number in front of me,” Granholm responded.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) responded to an attack from Dr. Anthony Fauci, Director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and the Chief Medical Advisor to the president, on Sunday by doubling down on his call for the Department of Justice to investigate Fauci for alleged false statements that he made while testifying to Congress.
“Anybody who spins lies and threatens and all that theater that goes on with some of the investigations and the congressional committees and the Rand Pauls and all that other nonsense, that’s noise, Margaret, that’s noise,” Fauci said during an interview with CBS News’ Margaret Brennan.
Later, when asked about Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) saying that Fauci should be prosecuted by the Department of Justice, Fauci responded: “Yeah. I have to laugh at that. I should be prosecuted? What happened on Jan. 6, senator?”
Fauci claimed that Republicans were trying to scapegoat him to protect former President Donald Trump and that Republicans who are attacking him are “lying.”
Cruz responded to Fauci’s remarks in a series of tweets late on Sunday afternoon, calling Fauci “an unelected technocrat who has distorted science and facts in order to exercise authoritarian control over millions of Americans.”
“He lives in a liberal world where his smug ‘I REPRESENT science’ attitude is praised,” Cruz said.
Cruz then laid out four “facts” related to his call for the DOJ to investigate Fauci:
On May 11, Fauci testified before a Senate Committee that “the NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology.”
On October 20, NIH wrote they funded an experiment at the Wuhan lab testing if “spike proteins from naturally occurring bat coronaviruses circulating in China were capable of binding to the human ACE2 receptor in a mouse model.” That is gain of function research.
Fauci’s statement and the NIH’s October 20 letter cannot both be true. The statements are directly contradictory.

“No amount of ad hominem insults parroting Democrat talking points will get Fauci out of this contradiction,” Cruz concluded. “Fauci either needs to address the substance—in detail, with specific factual corroboration—or DOJ should consider prosecuting him for making false statements to Congress.”

Four members of the House of Representatives asked the Securities and Exchange Commission to examine Ben & Jerry’s halt on ice cream sales in certain parts of Israel.
As The Daily Wire reported earlier this year, Ben & Jerry’s — which often endorses left-leaning policies — decided to stop selling its products in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. The company, wholly owned by Unilever yet retaining its own Board of Directors, said that it is “inconsistent with our values” to sell in “Occupied Palestinian Territory.”
The letter to SEC chairman Gary Gensler — signed by Rep. Ritchie Torres (D-NY), Rep. Andrew Garbarino (R-NY), Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) — argued that the company’s policy is inconsistent with many state laws:
We have been informed that, Ben & Jerry’s has halted the sale of its products in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. We also understand that the actions by Ben & Jerry’s disregards numerous United States’ state laws, which requires a state to divest from companies that participate in such boycotts. To date, Arizona, Florida, New Jersey, New York, and Texas have taken steps to divest of Unilever’s common shares. Additionally, 30 other states have enacted “anti-BDS” laws, all of which may consider divestiture in response to public appeal.
The lawmakers also noted that Unilever’s federal filings neglected to acknowledge the business risks of divesting from certain parts of Israel:
It is also our understanding that Unilever may have violated Rule 10b-5 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 relating to material omissions in the 6-K. Given the potential negative impact of such material omissions, which is why we believe the SEC should ask Unilever to revise the “Principal Risk Factors” section of their 6-K to fully and accurately disclose the potential material adverse consequences to the company based by the claimed independence of the Ben & Jerry’s Board of Directors, and the specific potential effects of the Ben & Jerry’s boycott.
We have also been informed that the 6-K filed by Unilever fails to include specific language that details the potential adverse consequences to Unilever created by the Ben & Jerry’s boycott in its “Principal Risk Factors” section.
Indeed, New York’s Common Retirement Fund announced in October that it would jettison its $111 million in Unilever holdings.
“After a thorough review, the New York State Common Retirement Fund will divest its equity holdings in Unilever PLC,” said New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, a Democrat. “Our review of the activities of the company, and its subsidiary Ben & Jerry’s, found they engaged in BDS activities under our pension fund’s policy.”
In August, franchise owners also asked Ben & Jerry’s to rescind the boycott.
“There is a danger that the pursuit of social justice will descend into political correctness or result in the adoption of overly simplistic solutions by people who share a single view of the world that misconstrue complex problems in which multiple claims of justice are implicated,” the letter stated. “The imposition of such narrow prescriptions does not advance social justice or the pursuit of a values-led business in any meaningful way.”

Previous tweets from President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are igniting accusations of hypocrisy after the administration announced a travel ban in response to a new COVID-19 variant.
A World Health Organization panel convened on Friday to assess the potential of the SARS-CoV-2 variant “omicron,” formerly known as B.1.1.529. The WHO classified the latest variant as a “highly transmissible virus of concern,” which is also what the health agency previously named the delta variant as.
“We don’t know very much about this yet. What we do know is that this variant has a large number of mutations. And the concern is when you have so many mutations it can have an impact on how the virus behaves,” said Maria van Kerkhove, an epidemiologist and WHO technical lead on COVID-19. “This is one to watch, I would say we have concern. But I think you would want us to have concern. “
The Botswana government said there were four cases of the omicron variant reported on Nov. 22, and that all four patients were fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Cases of the omicron variant have already been identified in Belgium, the U.K., Germany, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong, and Israel.
The WHO cautioned against countries implementing travel bans.
“At this point, implementing travel measures is being cautioned against,” WHO spokesman Christian Lindmeier said during a United Nations briefing in Geneva. “The WHO recommends that countries continue to apply a risk-based and scientific approach when implementing travel measures.”
Dr. Michael Ryan — the head of emergencies at the WHO — warned against “knee-jerk responses.”
“We’ve seen in the past, the minute there’s any kind of mention of any kind of variation and everyone is closing borders and restricting travel,” Ryan said. “It’s really important that we remain open, and stay focused.”
Despite the WHO recommendation, several countries implemented travel restrictions on African nations, including Australia, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and all 27 member states of the European Union.
The South African foreign ministry reacted to the travel bans by saying the country was being punished for being one of the first nations to identify the new COVID-19 variant. South Africa first reported cases of B.1.1.529 to the WHO on Nov. 24.
“This latest round of travel bans is akin to punishing South Africa for its advanced genomic sequencing and the ability to detect new variants quicker,” the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation said in a statement. “Excellent science should be applauded and not punished.”
The White House issued a statement on the travel ban, “The United States Government, including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), within the Department of Health and Human Services, has reexamined its policies on international travel and concluded that further measures are required to protect the public health from travelers entering the United States.”
Biden’s travel ban goes into effect on Nov. 29, 2021.

However, many commentators resurfaced old tweets by Biden that are deemed as hypocritical.
On Jan. 31, 2020, then-President Donald Trump declared a public health emergency in response to the global COVID-19 outbreak and temporarily suspended the entry of travelers from China. At the time, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi issued a statement, claiming Trump’s immigration policy “undermined our Constitution” and was “bigoted.”

Joseph Sifnaios, co-owner of The Coop restaurant in Waukesha, Wisconsin, said on Sunday that his establishment was able to raise about $15,000 for the victims of last Sunday’s Christmas parade tragedy.
“For my brother and I the best form of payment, especially during this holiday season, is just to see people united and be happy and this is the least gesture we could have done,” he told “Fox & Friends Weekend” on Sunday.
The breakfast restaurant donated 100% of its proceeds Friday to victims of the Nov. 21 Christmas parade tragedy that killed six victims, including an 8-year-old boy, and injured dozens of others.
The Coop is donating all the proceeds to Waukesha County’s “United for Waukesha Community Fund,” which will “support the needs of the families impacted” by the devastating attack.
Sifnaios said he and his brother were “humbled” by the outpouring of support. He added that people from other states, including Texas, South Dakota and Nevada donated as well.
“Today someone just came in from out of state and just dropped $500 in our donation box,” Sifnaios said. “It’s unreal.”
“It just shows that this is one of the greatest countries,” he continued. “United we stand and you could see that.”
A video shared on its Facebook page Friday showed a packed restaurant, with customers sitting at every table.
“The community came together. We rallied together,” he said on Sunday. “We showed strength in the time of adversity and it just shows what ‘Waukesha strong’ really means for those that don’t know.”
“We put ourselves on the map and thank God we were able to raise this $15,000 knowing that it’s going to benefit those that were affected and impacted,” he continued.
In a Nov. 21 Facebook post shared after the attack, The Coop announced that it would be closed the next day on Nov. 22.
The Facebook post continued: “Although our moods are struck with sorrow & sadness there is no doubt this community will bounce back. We are a community that has shown strength in the face of adversity, love when there is hate, offered a helping hand to our neighbor in need, and shown relentless hospitality to the many people and faces who have walked through our doors. We will get through this together.”
In another Facebook post on Saturday, The Coop noted that they “opened our doors at 7:00 a.m. and had people lined up out the door starting at 6:45 a.m.”
“Throughout the day, many faces familiar and new rallied together to support a cause that hit too close to home,” the post continued.
On Nov. 21, Darrell E. Brooks, 39, allegedly drove into the parade in Waukesha, a suburb of Milwaukee, initially killing five people and injuring more than 60. On Tuesday, 8-year-old Jackson Sparks became the sixth fatality.
Brooks was charged with five counts of first-degree intentional homicide and will likely be charged with a sixth count for Sparks’ death.
Initially 16 patients between ages 3 and 16 years old were admitted to Wisconsin Children’s Hospital, according to WISN-TV in Milwaukee.
“It hurts,” Sifnaios said on Sunday. “I mean we were one degree separated from everything.”
He noted that the restaurant is “two minutes away from where this all this took place.”
“We’re trying to recuperate,” he said, noting that “the Christmas parade is a huge tradition in Waukesha.”
“My thoughts are: How many people came to our restaurant this past Sunday before they went to the parade? And it just pains me,” Sifnaios continued.
A number of local and national fundraisers have been organized for victims and their families in the days since the attack. Arizona Cardinals defensive end J.J. Watt — a Waukesha native — has offered to cover the funeral costs for all the victims.

The South Africandoctor who first alerted authorities to the presence of the COVID-19 omicron variant reported that it presents “unusual but mild” symptoms.
Dr. Angelique Coetzee, a board member of the South African Medical Association, first noticed otherwise healthy patients demonstrating unusual symptoms on Nov. 18.
“Their symptoms were so different and so mild from those I had treated before,” Coetzee told The Telegraph.

“It presents mild disease with symptoms being sore muscles and tiredness for a day or two not feeling well,” Coetzee explained. “So far, we have detected that those infected do not suffer the loss of taste or smell. They might have a slight cough. There are no prominent symptoms. Of those infected some are currently being treated at home.”
Coetzee reported around two dozen of her patients that tested positive for the coronavirus and displayed these new symptoms. She alerted officials to the possibility of a new variant, which the World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday designated the omicron variant.

Most of the patients were men who reported “feeling so tired,” and half of them were unvaccinated. The patients comprised a range of ages and ethnicities.
Coetzee started briefing other African medical associations on Saturday, discussing the variety of symptoms, such as “one very interesting case” of a six-year-old child with a fever and “very high pulse rate.”
“What we have to worry about now is that when older, unvaccinated people are infected with the new variant, and if they are not vaccinated, we are going to see many people with a severe [form of the] disease,” Coetzee said.
Coetzee’s advisement follows a report by Tulio de Oliveira, the director of South Africa’s Centre for Epidemic Response and Innovation.
Oliveira told reporters the virus has a “very unusual constellation of mutations,” most notably 10 variants on a key protein that helps the virus infect humans compared to the delta variant’s two mutations and the beta variant’s three mutations.
He criticized several countries – including the U.S., U.K., South Korea and various countries in Europe – for enacting travel restrictions on South Africa and several other African nations.
“The world should provide support to South Africa and Africa and not discriminate or isolate it!” Oliveira tweeted. “By protecting and supporting it, we will protect the world!”
The World Health Organization (WHO) identified on Friday the new South African strain as one of concern, as it is reported to carry a high number of mutations — 32 — which possibly makes it more transmissible and dangerous. The WHO has dubbed it Omicron, the 15th letter of the Greek alphabet.

At the same time, the situation might be different for the unvaccinated. “We will only know this after two weeks. Yes, it is transmissible, but for now, as medical practitioners, we do not know why so much hype is being driven as we are still looking into it. We will only know after two to three weeks as there are some patients admitted and these are young people aged 40 and younger,” Coetzee added.
The chairwoman also criticized the decision by some countries to ban flights from South Africa is premature as there is not enough information on how dangerous it is. Following the reports about the new variant, the United States, the European Union, Canada, Israel, Australia and other countries have restricted travel from several southern African nations over the health concerns.

Former Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said that the recent epidemic of “flash mob” thievery going on in California will inevitably spread around the country.
“This is something now that I really unfortunately think is going to spread,” Ramsey told CNN on Thursday, via Newsweek. “Right now it’s in California, but it will spread, there’s no question about it.”
Ramsey’s comments come after another theft took place Wednesday. Four individuals, believed to be between the ages of 14 and 18, stole $20,000 worth of merchandise from an Apple store in the Santa Rosa Plaza, about 50 miles from San Francisco, The Daily Wire reported. “In a brazen daytime burglary in front of customers and staff, the suspects grabbed over $20,000 worth of merchandise from the store and fled the area in an unknown vehicle,” Santa Rosa police said in a statement.
A mob of five also sacked a Nordstrom luxury outlet in Canoga Park, a town in the Los Angeles area, Wednesday evening. The looters, one of them wearing an orange wig, attacked a security guard with “some kind of chemical” and stole at least seven luxury handbags, The Daily Wire reported.
The San Francisco Bay Area has been the epicenter of the looting sprees in recent days. The Daily Wire reported that a mob of about 80 people attacked another Nordstrom outlet in Walnut Creek, about 30 minutes outside of San Francisco, pepper spraying an employee and physically assaulting two others. Three people were arrested in connection with the robberies, according to local news outlets.
The Walnut Creek robbery was one of three major incidents that took place last weekend. The Daily Wire reported that a mob of people, some of whom were armed with hammers, looted a jewelry store in the city of Hayward, about 35 miles from San Francisco, on Sunday evening. Another mob looted a Louis Vuitton outlet in San Francisco on Friday night, breaking windows and “emptied out” the store. Newsweek reported that a Burberry and Yves Saint Laurent outlet were also robbed last Friday.
Several factors are to blame for the looting spree. Local officials have blamed the spike on California’s Proposition 47, which lessened penalties for shoplifting and raised the threshold for felony shoplifting from $400 to $950. Law enforcement officials told the Daily Mail that the mobs are recruited for up to $1,000 to steal the goods and sell them over the internet.
Ramsey told CNN that he saw the same thing during his tenure as Philadelphia Police commissioner. Groups of up to 20 individuals, mostly young adults, would rush into stores like Macy’s and take what they could before fleeing.
“It was really, really difficult to get a handle on it,” said Ramsey.
“What we found was, one, it was being organized through social media. So one of the things we started doing is paying close attention to social media.”
Ramsey said that just as Philadelphia Police struggled to contain the outbreak of looting in their city, so too would the stores, and California police, struggle to stop further attacks.
“I don’t know what’s driving all this, but it is of concern and it will continue,” Ramsey said. “It is not going to stop anytime soon.”
“This is not shoplifting, this is something far worse than shoplifting,” Ramsey added. “So, there’s a lot that has to be done if we want to get a handle on it.”

Chisholm and other Soros-backed DA’s across the country support “no cash bail” reforms that allow criminals to walk right out of prison before they go to trial.
District Attorney Chisholm actually bragged that he knew this soft on crime approach would lead to death and destruction.
Chisholm’s office turned Brooks loose on the streets just days before the Waukesha massacre on a bail of $1,000 after police arrested Brooks on charges of running a woman over with his car at a gas station.
In 2022, Wisconsin will be home to one of the most expensive and closely watched Senate races in the country.
Democrats need to flip this Republican-held seat if they hope to retain their majority.

The White House announced Tuesday that President Joe Biden would release 50 million barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
The United States uses 18 million barrels a day
The president argued in a statement the demand for oil was not able to keep up with the economy recovering from the coronavirus pandemic shutdowns, leading to higher prices.
“American consumers are feeling the impact of elevated gas prices at the pump and in their home heating bills, and American businesses are, too, because oil supply has not kept up with demand as the global economy emerges from the pandemic,” the White House said in a statement.
Biden announced his decision as Americans prepare to hit the road for Thanksgiving travel at the same time prices show no sign of easing, as Breitbart News reports.
Gas prices have hit a seven-year-high as Biden struggles to find a solution to higher gas prices.
Biden failed to convince OPEC+ nations to produce more oil in November and tried to blame the higher prices on oil companies.
Biden’s release from the oil reserve is bigger than that of previous presidents.
In 2011, President Barack Obama released 30 million barrels in the wake of the war in Libya, in 2005, President George W. Bush released 30 million barrels after Hurricane Katrina. In 1999, President Bill Clinton also tapped the emergency oil reserves, releasing 30 million barrels 45 days before the 2000 presidential election.
The White House is also arguing Americans have more money to use to help pay for more expensive gasoline.
In his statement, Biden reminded Americans that thanks to his policies, they “nearly $100 more per month in disposable income in their pockets” to help pay for the higher cost of energy and fuel.
Biden also boasted that his “historic” infrastructure bill invested in green energy with the goal of “a net-zero emissions economy by 2050 and reducing our dependence on foreign fossil fuels.”
