Coronavirus: STOP animals bleached! Petition Coronavirus: STOP bleached animals! Petition: Coronavirus: STOP bleached animals! Author (s): Claude Lefevre The petition In this pandemic period, animals easily suffer panic and anxiety from their owners. After the waves of abandonment and euthanasia, now those who have kept their animals wash them with hydroalcoholic gel , bleach and other detergents . Ethylic coma. Burnt legs. These are the results of these products on your dogs and cats! By licking, they will absorb them which will cause them to irritate the mucous membranes, intoxication and skin reactions . Animals digest alcohol more difficult than us, their reaction is therefore amplified and their lives quickly endangered ! No scientific study has proven that our animals can transmit this virus to us, let’s not mistreat them for lack of information. I quote here the words of a particularly shocked veterinarian in Sciez in Haute-Savoie: “We are asked: how do I disinfect my animal when I come back from a ride? What should I put on his tongue because he licked all over the floor? What should I put on my feet, or even with what can I clean it completely? ” The clinics, the veterinarians… All call for the responsibility of the French towards their animals and the stop of these surreal behaviors. Washing our animals with soap and water after a ride and then rinsing well is more than enough . These are simple precautionary gestures that can be applied. Detergents are not a possible solution, stop these dangerous and deadly behaviors. This petition is for pet owners: be responsible, be aware. There is no evidence that your animals could be life threatening. Don’t put theirs. Take precautionary measures with soapy water rather than disinfecting your animals.
Sign the Petition Maxie Liberman started this petition to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau
I have created this petition on behalf of Paula Laing, who lives on Six Nations without internet access. This is her plea: My name is Paula Laing and I am an educator. I live with my two children on Six Nations Reserve. I would like to speak up for all Six Nations students going to school off reserve and remind you that not all of us have access to internet. The success of our students depends on them risking their lives and their family’s lives by having to send them to someone else’s house to acquire internet. Case in point, my son who just returned from Queens University engineering had to leave our home to access internet for his midterm exams. Then return home to us, having exposed himself to another family. This is the same thing all high school students on reserves will need to do to access your learning plan. This exposure to families and Covid 19 is exactly what our Prime Minister is asking us not to do! Sadly, Bell and every other provider I have tried has advised me to cut down my trees or put up my own individual internet tower at a cost of $7000 because Bell has not invested in putting any towers, fiberoptic etc. in our area. Our success depends on access to technology in this difficult time of Covid 19. This is an opportunity for Reconciliation as our community is about to go on lockdown to spare losing our elders. I have spent my career as an educator advocating for our students. You can be assured as a parent with two kids in your system I will continue to fight for their right to not be left behind! Success for All students! Please sign this petition and ask Justin Trudeau to bring internet access to reserves across Canada.
End the next COVID-19: Ban global wet markets and illegal slaughterhouses now The Vanderpump Dog Foundation started this petition to United Nations and 1 other As the world faces the threat of the COVID-19 pandemic in unprecedented ways, we are learning quickly that infectious diseases pose a significant threat to our global population. Whether it’s COVID-19, SARS, or other recent public health disasters, outbreaks are having a profound effect on global health and the worldwide economy, and the day-to-day lives of billions of people. What we’ve learned about COVID-19 and what we already knew about SARS is that these outbreaks can be linked to wet markets and illegal slaughterhouses. These markets, a popular source of produce, meat and live animals, are not only prevalent in Chinese cities, but cities across the region and indeed the world. And they’re so unregulated, many worry that they are going to be regular breeding grounds for viruses and diseases that kill millions around the world. That’s why we need solutions now. What we’re all experiencing today with COVID-19 could have been stopped if these wet markets and illegal slaughterhouses had been shut down, or at least significantly regulated. We need global leadership and intervention which is why we’re asking you to stand with us and call on the United Nations and World Health Organization to address the dangerous effects of these animal markets and slaughterhouses. Scientists tell us that keeping different animals in close, prolonged proximity with one another and with people creates an unhealthy environment, and that this is the probable source of the mutation that enabled COVID-19 to infect humans. Viruses long present in some animals show an ability to mutate from nonhuman to nonhuman host, and ultimately gain an ability to bind to human cell receptors. When that happens, we see tragedy on the scale of what we saw with SARS, and what we’re seeing right now as millions of people get infected, and hundreds of thousands or more die from COVID-19. The Vanderpump Dog Foundation has been warning about this for years, as we’ve seen first-hand the brutality and horrific practices that happen in many of these wet markets and slaughterhouses. In our documentary, “The Road to Yulin … and Beyond,” we uncovered graphic torture of dogs in slaughterhouses, as well as the dangers that come from digesting or coming into contact with meat of unknown origins. These risks include rabies exposure to slaughterhouse workers, antibiotic resistance, parasites, and bacterial infections when people eat dog meat. An estimated 60% of all known human infectious diseases and 75% of emerging pathogens originate in animals, according to the World Health Organization. We cannot wait any longer to address this. Pressure is already mounting on world authorities to address this. Chinese President Xi Jinping recently announced a study on the prevention and control of the coronavirus including the need to strengthen market supervision, resolutely ban and severely crack down on illegal wildlife markets and trade. Other cities like Shenzen in China, home to 30 million people, passed a law banning the consumption of dog and cat meat that goes into effect in May 2020. These are helping, but we need more. To avoid future pandemics, we need a global effort to shut down and/or significantly regulate these wet markets not only in China, but across the world. Any lack of action with regards to addressing the source of the COVID-19 pandemic will present a danger for our future, and the threat that similar diseases will not only re-occur but expand. Today, please stand with us and urge the UN and WHO to take action, so that wet markets and illegal slaughterhouses no longer pose a global health threat to our planet.
Fraudsters are taking advantage of the uncertainty and fear surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic to steal your money, access your personal and financial information, and use you as a money mule.
When criminals obtain money illegally, they have to find a way to move and hide the illicit funds. They scam other people, known as money mules, into moving this illicit money for them either through funds transfers, physical movement of cash, or through various other methods. Money mules are often targeted through online job schemes or dating websites and apps.
Acting as a money mule—allowing others to use your bank account, or conducting financial transactions on behalf of others—not only jeopardizes your financial security and compromises your personally identifiable information, but is also a crime. Protect yourself by refusing to send or receive money on behalf of individuals and businesses for which you are not personally and professionally responsible. The FBI advises you to be on the lookout for the following:
Watch out for online job postings and emails from individuals promising you easy money for little to no effort. Common red flags that you may be acting as a money mule include:
The “employer” you communicate with uses web-based services such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Outlook, etc.
You are asked to receive funds in your personal bank account and then “process” or “transfer” funds via wire transfer, ACH, mail, or money service businesses, such as Western Union or MoneyGram
You are asked to open bank accounts in your name for a business
You are told to keep a portion of the money you transfer
Individuals claiming to be located overseas asking you to send or receive money on their behalf
Watch out for emails, private messages, and phone calls from individuals you do not know who claim to be located abroad and in need of your financial support. Criminals are trying to gain access to U.S. bank accounts in order to move fraud proceeds from you and other victims to their bank accounts. Common fictitious scenarios include:
Individuals claiming to be U.S. service members stationed overseas asking you to send or receive money on behalf of themselves or a loved one battling COVID-19
Individuals claiming to be U.S. citizens working abroad asking you to send or receive money on behalf of themselves or a loved one battling COVID-19
Individuals claiming to be U.S. citizens quarantined abroad asking you to send or receive money on behalf of themselves or a loved one battling COVID-19
Individuals claiming to be in the medical equipment business asking you to send or receive money on their behalf
Individuals affiliated with a charitable organization asking you to send or receive money on their behalf

In a Saturday afternoon press conference, the White House coronavirus task force warned that Americans should consider avoiding leaving their homes this week as the deadly outbreak, which has so far infected more than 300,000 and killed nearly 9,000, is expected to reach its peak.
“The next two weeks are extraordinarily important,” White House coronavirus response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx said Saturday. “This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store, not going to the pharmacy, but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe.”
Although the White House coronavirus team was reticent to put a timeline on the virus itself, at least three regions of the United States — the midwest, the northeast, and the areas surrounding New Orleans, Louisiana — are projected to reach peak infections within the next seven days, according to the New York Post. Other areas of the United States, like the south and west, are expected to see their numbers rise until they hit a peak within the next fourteen days.
“Asked when the worst day of the outbreak will be, Dr. Deborah Birx, the White House coronavirus response coordinator, talked about the three hotspots being watched most closely: Detroit, Louisiana and New York. She said each are on the upside of their curve of mortality, and that officials anticipate them hitting their peaks in the next six to seven days,” per NPR.
“This will probably be the toughest week – between this week and next week,” President Donald Trump told the press conference, grimly. “There will be a lot of death, unfortunately…there will be death.”
“We are coming up to a time that is going to be very horrendous,” Trump added. “We probably have never seen anything like these kind of numbers. Maybe during the war, during a World War One or Two or something.”
New York governor Andrew Cuomo expressed similar sentiments during his own press conference Saturday, noting that the peak appears to be approaching in his state: “We’re not yet at the apex, we’re getting closer … Our reading of the projections is we’re somewhere in the seven-day range.”
Sunday morning, administration officials were no more rosy. The Surgeon General, appearing on Fox News Sunday, compared the coming seven days to a terrorist attack.
“This is going to be hardest and the saddest week of most American’s lives, quite frankly. This is going to be our Pearl Harbor moment, our 9/11 moment,” Vice Admiral Jerome Adams said.
The president was, at least, bullish on the idea of the country reopening within the foreseeable future, suggesting on Saturday that he is pursuing the possibility of bringing together a second coronavirus team, this one tasked with laying the groundwork for an economic recovery, and plotting how to slowly return Americans to the workforce, while balancing the threat of a second outbreak.
“At a certain point,” the president said, “some hard decisions are going to have to be made,” referencing the idea that risk management efforts, designed to contain the virus, are having an unprecedented impact on American businesses. “Social distancing” policies and state-mandated lockdowns have created an unemployment crisis; millions of Americans have now applied for unemployment and millions more are facing slowdowns and pay reductions.
