Here’s a heart-breaking story by John R. Platt and Dipika Kadaba of The Revelator. It turns out that 824 Florida manatees died last year, almost 50% more than in 2017.
Those 824 mortalities (deaths) represent 13% of the Florida manatee population, and many of them were caused by people – either directly or indirectly.
The Revelator released a video that goes into more detail about why so many manatees died last year. Click below to watch it, and be sure to visit this link for the original story.
And the crime continues! The human beings do not interrupt his nefarious activities, and the animals continue to die either by human’s own hand or by causes linked to human pressure. I am very sad. Even if this serves no purpose: we cannot change the situation by means of our loving thought towards those that we, the humans, continue to call “animals”.
A radical change is necessary … but unfortunately, every minute a species is extinguished.

As the old man walk the beach at dawn, he noticed a young girl ahead of him picking up starfish and flinging them back into the sea. Finally catching up with the youth, he asked her why she was doing this. The answer was that the stranded starfish would die if left in the hot morning sun. “But the beach goes on for miles and there are millions of starfish,” countered the old man. “How can your effort make any difference?” The young girl looked at the starfish in her hand and then threw it to the safety of the waves. “It makes a difference to that one,” she said.
Know that you’re not alone Claudine, we’re all over the world, throwing starfish back into the sea.
Blessings my dear friend take care💙

This one you told, is a deep meaningful short story. I love it! One drop in the ocean… we are choosing to do it, even if it seems a work without meaning and effortful. We give the input, the good example… and that’s what counts. Love and hugs :-)claudine

I have never understood people purposely harming animals.
I also found this and wanted to be certain you knew about it.

I agree it’s impossible to understand!
Thanks GP. Unfortunately Bovine TB is a big problem in England the disease effects animals such as cattle but it can affect practically all mammals and because badgers live around cattle and if the cattle are diagnosed with TB unfortunately they want to cull both. They do have a vaccine and they are trying to control it that way.
You can read more about it here. http://www.tbfreeengland.co.uk/latest-news/vaccination/
