Correction Update: Threats Mount For Wyoming Wolves

Dear wolf advocates:

We have fantastic news! This morning the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia agreed the gray wolf in the Great Lakes and Wyoming should remain on the federal Endangered Species List.

Essentially, the federal appeals court has ruled against the Interior Department’s 2011 decision to delist the gray wolf under the Endangered Species Act. The court said, “Because the government failed to reasonably analyze or consider two significant aspects of the rule—the impacts of partial delisting and of historical range loss on the already-listed species—we affirm the judgment of the district court vacating the 2011 Rule.”

This decision re-affirms what we know: the wolf is a vulnerable and valuable species and needs federal protections for their long-term survival. The wolf is an important part of our state and nation’s ecology and culture. We have known all along that wolf hunting recklessly endangers this valuable asset.

Here in Minnesota, we are very pleased with recent funding approved by the state legislature to reimburse farmers for nonlethal methods to deter livestock conflicts.

We are on the right track for recovering the wolf’s genetic diversity that will keep them in existence for future generations in Minnesota and the world. You helped make this happen – let’s keep it going.
Do a dance for the wolf!

Howling For Wolves will stay in close touch with ongoing wolf issues including legal and legislative happenings. We know committees in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate have passed reckless provisions in bills to remove these federal protections and to make delisting decisions not judicially reviewable.

News Release from the Office of US Senator Whitehouse:

REED, WHITEHOUSE SEEK TO STOKE OFFSHORE WIND’S POTENTIAL FOR JOB CREATION & CLEAN ENERGY
Bipartisan bill establishes investment tax credit for first 3,000 megawatts of new offshore turbines
Washington, D.C. – With America’s first-ever offshore wind farm completed off the coast of Rhode Island, U.S. Senators Jack Reed (D-RI) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) are teaming up with Tom Carper (D-DE), Susan Collins (R-ME), and several of their colleagues in introducing the Incentivizing Offshore Wind Power Act.  This bipartisan legislation would provide critical financial incentives to spur more investment in offshore wind energy.  The bill would create an investment tax credit that is redeemable for the first 3,000 megawatts of offshore wind facilities placed into service, amounting to approximately new 600 wind turbines.

In the past, Congress has offered a temporary credit for investments in wind power, but the…

An inconvenient commentary: 5 times climate alarmists made horribly wrong predictions

Nwo Report

Climate-change alarmist Al Gore’s newest fear-mongering film, “An Inconvenient Sequel,” arrived in select movie theaters over the weekend. Unsurprisingly, the film is full of dire warnings about the future of mankind and its allegedly dangerous use of fossil fuels.

However, before you trade in your car for a bicycle or your steak for insects, consider that for nearly 50 years, climate alarmists have been desperately trying and failing to predict the downfall of human civilization.

Here are just five examples of the many times climate alarmists gazed into their crystal balls and ended up looking more than a little foolish.

1. New York Times: Polar explorer predicts end of ice at the North Pole (1969)

Way back before Leonardo DiCaprio, the rise of Gore and the rampant politicization of climate science, polar explorer Col. Bernt Balchen was convinced the North Pole would melt by as early as 1979.

Michael Moore attacks Trump as ‘loser’ — then the internet quickly reminds him who the real loser is

Nwo Report

Documentary filmmaker and noted liberal Michael Moore attacked President Donald Trump on Twitter Sunday as a “loser” who holds “fake power.”

“Hey loser-you LOST. You lost on Nov 8 & you lost on Friday. You hold fake power that was not given to u by the majority of Americans. Loser,” Moore wrote.

Moore’s tweet came in response to a tweet Trump tweeted from his personal Twitter account on Saturday when he urged Senate Republicans to continue fighting to repeal and replace Obamacare, a core promise of the GOP for years, in addition to Trump’s presidential campaign.

Trump even suggested only voting on an Obamacare replacement before voting on any other legislation.
