At Wild Horse Education (WHE) we work with media representatives in multiple capacities. We provide info and images, roundups and on the range. Yet we also work the media behind the scenes doing research and consulting on projects.
The American media has changed drastically in the last decade. The advent of “internet in every household” created a sharp decline in print media. A lot of jobs were lost. Print media had staff reporters, photographers, pre-press and press. It had distribution. An entire industry needed to evolve. It is still evolving.

Spring into Action
March comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb, the saying goes. Spring has (almost!) arrived, reminding us again of the ever-changing political landscape. Just this session, a record 36 animal related bills were introduced in the Pennsylvania State Assembly.
Thankfully, the 2015/16 session started strong when the Animal Fighting Paraphernalia bill passed and was signed into law in September – it has already been put to use cracking down on dog fighters! Four animal bills immediately passed the Senate as well, and now we need to get that momentum going again. Take this spring season as a chance to participate in the changing political discourse about animals. You can be a part of this tidal wave of change by getting involved:
- Contact your legislators.
- Schedule an appointment with your district office to discuss the pending animal related bills.
- Follow Humane PA PAC on Facebook .
- Invite your friends to “like” us.

Drone to police massive UK marine reserve

The UK said it would establish the 834,000-sq-km (322,000-sq-mile) zone around the Pitcairn Islands in the Pacific in 2015.

Dangerous Alpha Radiation Surface Contamination on Toshiba Shipment; Workers Burned at Toshiba Facility in South Carolina – Same Facility Separate Events
Westinghouse is now a Toshiba (Japan) subsidiary. It is 87% Toshiba owned; 10% Kazatomprom (Kazakhstan State owned), and 3% IHI (Japan) owned.
The first US NRC “event” apparently has to do with down-blending of [Obama’s beloved] HEU (highly enriched uranium) and LEU (low enriched uranium) recovery. Some of the containers for the radioactive material shipped from South Carolina to Tennessee had high levels of alpha radiation on the outside. The highest was 106 Bq (disintegrations, shots, per second) per 100 sq cm (i.e. 10 x 10 cm or 4 x 4 inches). Nuclear is lethal through its entire fuel chain. Any one of these shots can cause genetic damage, which may or may not be properly repaired, and which can thus lead to cancer or other diseases, which may sometimes even be inherited. Alpha emitters are particularly damaging and thus difficult to repair.

Carrot Raisin Apple Oat Bran Muffin-Doughnuts (Vegan + Gluten-Free)
Need a little extra incentive to get out of bed now that the mornings are darker? Hearty, soft, and subtly sweet doughnut shaped muffins made with carrots, apples, raisins, pecans, oat bran and gluten free flour are topped with creamy whipped yogurt and cashew cream. If this doesn’t make you feel peppy (despite the time change) I don’t know what will.
Third time’s a charm. Or fourth, fifth, sixth… I lost count of how many batches of these muffin/doughnuts I made before I was happy with the results. It’s been about a year ago that I first tried this recipe in muffin form, after which I abandoned it until last month when I found my little piece of scratch paper with the recipe scribbled on it. My notes are always a mess… “omit” this, “add” that, ingredients crossed out, and others written sideways to squeeze it on the paper…

Mar 14, 2016 — Chewy is 11 months old today! We celebrated this past weekend by visiting some natural pet supply shops and getting him lots of treats, toys, and clothes! He even met some of you who have been very supportive by signing this petition. Trust me, those folks got lots of “Chewy kisses” (and then some!)
Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to eliminate the bacterial strain that is in his lungs. He still requires Enrofloxacin daily to prevent it from becoming worse. We are still awaiting the test results from Virginia Tech to determine the way forward.
No, Pets Plus Inc. has made no effort to contact us or any attempt to assist with Chewy’s healthcare. Ms. Bonnie Hickey’s attitude has been disappointing to say the least.
Some have asked how they can support Chewy. Forward this petition to your friends and family. Let Pets Plus Inc. know you support Chewy (and any others with this condition). Email, Facebook, and phone calls can be effective. Businesses like this usually listen to their accountant when they won’t listen to their customers. If you are in the area, there are TONS of local, family owned businesses that WANT your business and will cater to you and your pet’s needs. Most important, prayers are always accepted and appreciated.
