Massive Windows 10 News: Hides 5 Nasty Surprises

Nwo Report

Sometimes showing off has a way of coming back to bite you. In an understandably celebratory post MicrosoftMSFT -1.85% has revealed Windows 10 is now active on over 200 million devices (though this includes Xbox One upgrades and Windows 10 Mobile smartphones). Then it made a series of boasts which exposed something rather shocking…

In an attempt to illustrate just how much Windows 10 users love the new operating system, Microsoft rolled out stat after stat about growing adoption and momentum (Black Friday and Christmas play their part here). But then things got weird:

“One of the ways we measure our progress with Windows 10 is looking at how people are using Windows,” explained Microsoft Senior Vice President Yusuf Mehdi. “Recently we reached another milestone – people have spent over 11 billion hours on Windows 10 in December alone, spending more time on Windows than ever before.”

That’s a crazy amount…

Chinese Immigrant Defies Obama’s Executive Gun Grab: I Won’t Be A Slave Here Too

Nwo Report

“I will always stand with my AR, no matter what my president signs with his pen”

Mikael Thalen |
A Chinese immigrant took a bold stand against President Obama’s recent executive actions on gun control Tuesday in a viral message posted to social media.

Lily Tang Williams, the state chair of the Colorado Libertarian Party, posted a photo to Facebook featuring her AR-15 rifle and the American flag with a vow to never again be a “slave.”

“I am a Chinese immigrant and an American citizen by choice. I once was a slave before and I will never be one again,” Williams wrote.

“If you believe more gun control by your government is going to save lives, you are being naïve. The champion of all the mass killings in this world is always a tyrannical government.”

Williams went on to point out the thousands of unarmed students killed during…

YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK – Members of the Interagency Bison Management Plan (IBMP) have signed a winter operations plan that aims to reduce the current population of 4,900 animals.

The announcement was made in a press release from Yellowstone National Park.

The park says that because the Yellowstone bison population has high reproductive and survival rates, it will be necessary to cull 600-900 animals to offset the population increase expected this year.

The population will be decreased using two methods, according to the IBMP:

(1) Public and tribal hunting outside the park

(2) Capturing bison near the park boundary and transferring them to Native American tribes for processing and distribution of meat and hides to their members.

The press release says that bison are a migratory species and they move across…

‘Behind the Eyes of a Dog’ by Artist Diana J. Smith

The inspiration for this body of work comes from the way dogs looks at you with intense concentration as if trying to understand your words or thoughts. I am intrigued by the intelligence and extreme focus in their eyes and the depth of their concentration as well as their beautiful noses, detecting smells we cannot even acknowledge.

All dogs evolved from mother wolf, and I suggest that by blending of images the dog with his kind and his forbearers. Embracing collage techniques, I collect countless pictures of dogs and wolves from old discarded books and magazines. As I begin each piece, I select several hundred of these images based on color and value; I cut out each one and adhere it to the canvas surface. When grouped together, these tiny pictures form a much larger image, the…

Goat Given To Tiger As Food Months Ago Is STILL His Friend | The Dodo

Life or Lunch?

It was late November when Timur the goat entered Amur the tiger’s den as nothing more than a piece of live meat. Today, their friendship is still blossoming.

Skeptics, such as the editors of Russia’s Siberia Times, said Timur wouldn’t last a week before Amur would turn on him and eat him alive, but it’s now been more than 5 weeks together at the Far East Safari Park in Primorsky, Russia. And they haven’t decided to kill each other yet.

Over the past weeks together, they’ve played hide-and-go seek. They’ve butted heads with each other for fun. They’ve even made it through their first fight together when Timur kicked the tiger out of his shelter during a rainstorm.

Through thick and thin, these two animals are good pals in what seems to be an unusual friendship, but perhaps the strangest behavior surrounding this event comes from the humans watching…

Tracking polar bears in the Beaufort Sea – one tagged bear left at year end 2015

I’ve combined the months of November and December for this post on USGS polar bear tracking in the Beaufort Sea because there’s not much to tell: there’s one tagged bear left and she’s going almost nowhere. Where’s the news in that?

Beaufort tracking USGS bear-movements-November 2015 sm Movements of 1 satellite-tagged polar bear female for the month of November, 2015; shown with sea ice coverage at 30 November 2015. This bear was tagged in the spring of 2015 in the Southern Beaufort Sea. See original image here and December movements below.

Actually, it does tell us something: this female is probably in a sea ice den, a relative common phenomenon in the Beaufort Sea. And she’s on ice that’s out over very deep water.

This bear is on ice over deep ocean rather than the continental shelf (see map below), and has moved little since the end of November (see December tracking map below), it…
