Thursday February 19, 2015 #TWEETSTORM Event- original tweet (this will be my Tweet) @SenatorBaldwin @RepRonKind oppose anti-wolf Legislation HR843 / HR884 #KeepWolvesListed

Big money, big hunt clubs are on the move to pressure congress to delist wolves nationwide and they don’t want that subject to judicial review. And this will allow states to manage wolves with reckless trophy hunts that significantly put wolves at risk.

Let’s make it very clear to Washington D.C. We want to keep the dirty politics out of the Endangered Species Act. Our rare and endangered wildlife are not a bargaining chip for big money! #KeepWolvesListed join the #TWEETSTORM @ your US senator and @ your US House of Representative

Say Goodbye To The Internet As You Knew It. Cost To Soar. Blogs And Political Speech To Be Regulated.

Sword At-The-Ready

OBAMAInterNetControl

The FCC AND the FEC announce their tag-team plans to takeover and control the internet, designed to silence critics of the Ruling Class Oligarchy in D.C.  Information will be regulated.  Blogs and political forums will be shut down, cost to get online to skyrocket.

Remember when the Marxist/Liberals/Fascists in America decided that the world’s best healthcare system was broken and needed to be fixed?  That it was unfair and cost too much and needed to be made available for “everyone” at taxpayer expense?

We got ObamaCare as a result.  An unConstitutional behemoth of Statism drafted in secret and passed in the middle of the night without a single Republican vote that the regime keeps rewriting as it sees fit while making healthcare unaffordable for most Americans.

Well, the same tyrants are about to do the same exact thing to the internet.  “If you like your internet you can keep your internet”is already…

Funding will help restoration of Cape Fear watershed after decades of industrial pollution

Staff Report

FRISCO — Tainted North Carolina wetlands and streams will be restored thanks to a $13 million in cleanup funding under federally administered environmental programs.

The payment, announced by NOAA, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources, in their capacity as natural resource trustees, to repair the damage from 40 years of pollution at Kerr-McGee’s wood treatment facility in Navassa, North Carolina. Another $9 million is on the table.

The wisdom of John Livingston: The Fallacy of Wildlife Conservation

GarryRogers Nature Conservation

Patricia Randolph:  “Canadian John Livingston said he was decidedly not a conservationist because conservation had become resource development.”  Source: host.madison.com

GR:  Of course, I agree with the sentiment expressed by John Livingston and his 1990 interviewer Farley Mowat. It’s what Aldo Leopold said in 1949.  You see, there are two types of conservationists, the majority who view nature as a resource for human use, and the tiny minority who view nature as something of which we are a part.  Leopold believed that the former could only lead to environmental deterioration.

Here’s a quote from Leopold that relates to the article: “One basic weakness in a conservation system based wholly on economic motives is that most members of the land community [and ocean community] have no economic value. Wildflowers and songbirds are examples. Of the 22,000 higher plants and animals native to Wisconsin, it is doubtful whether more than 5 per…

Protecting endangered loggerhead sea turtles

Dear Kitty. Some blog

This 2014 video is about baby loggerhead turtles hatching on Kuriat island in Tunisia.

From BirdLife:

From the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, turtle conservation overcoming similar challenges

By Shaun Hurrell, Thu, 12/02/2015 – 16:40

The Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF) is funding three projects that are protecting Endangered loggerhead sea turtles

An uninhabited island with beautiful beaches might seem like a safe place for a rare species of turtle to nest, but Kuriat Island of Tunisia is swamped every summer by thousands of tourists. Even the fishermen who frequent the island to rest can be unaware that the island is very important for the loggerhead sea turtleCaretta caretta – the only place in Tunisia where this Endangered species buries its eggs in the sand. Sea turtle populations are devastated from bycatch in fishing nets so any hatchlings under the sand need all the help they can get…

The tapestry, which features gray and white stripes and several pink triangles, was being sold for $69 at an Urban Outfitters in Boulder, Colo., according to the Anti-Defamation League. The group said it wrote to Urban Outfitters CEO Richard Hayne asking him to stop selling the item, but the retailer hasn’t commented so far, the Washington Post reports.

—TIME

urban outfitters has a nasty history of racism and just horribly distasteful clothing items… for example:

– a shirt with the star of david patched on the pocket (like the Jewish holocaust victims were forced to wear)

– a vintage bloodstained kent state sweatshirt (in the 1970’s four (unarmed) kent state students were shot during a vietnam war protest)

– a faux Navajo clothing line

– a shirt sporting the words “eat less” plastered on it

– racist “Ghettopoly” shirt

– a shirt with…

Why These Former Burger King and Pepsi Execs Ditched Meat To Bet on Plant-Based Protein | One Green Planet

Life or Lunch?

Sweet-Earth-Natural-Foods-1200x800I sensed it the moment I stepped inside Sweet Earth Natural Food’s 35,000 square foot facility in Moss Landing, California. It was almost instant, undeniable and omnipresent. I’m not referring to the smell of spicy hickory and sage smoked “Benevolent Bacon” and burritos lingering in the air (although, that was great too). What I’m talking about is a positive vibe that encapsulates the place and the people that work there. I wondered, was it the quintessential California location? After all, Sweet Earth is located along an idyllic stretch of Highway One on the California central coast, one of the most abundant agricultural regions in the world, with the crashing waves of the Pacific Ocean merely a stone’s throw away.

Or was there more to it?

sweet earth3Sweet Earth’s website proclaims that the most important ingredients are ones they don’t list on the package, “sweet vibes,” “rolling surf,” and “pure…
