ArthurAs Sweden’s Team Peak Performance prepared for a dangerous trek through the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador, they sat down for a meal. Mikael Lindnord then saw a scruffy, miserable-looking dog out of the corner of his eye and decided to give him a meatball. He thought nothing of it, but from then on, the dog refused to leave the team of four. As they navigated the final stages of the Adventure Racing World Championships the dog, they decided to name Arthur, hiked alongside them in knee-deep mud and even swam next to them as they kayaked in the dead of night.

Last year we were more or less happy. We had hope that things were finally moving forward and that some key questions were being resolved. Dogs had enough food every day. We succeed in realizing several big projects, which literally pulled many dogs out of mud. Dog adoption was going better than ever and we managed to drastically reduce the number of dogs. We kept pushing each either forward like we had done from the beginning and telling each other that we cannot relax because there was a lot more to do ahead.

Despite the fact that we managed to create a little breathing room, there was still a lot of work and need to conitnue to collect resources. We finally felt some relief and for the first time things didn’t seem to be a hopeless battle. We were prepared for the winter with supplies of…

I Lived Through A Miracle (6 Images)

Heaven On Earth

Friends, as I write this, I am fighting severe exhaustion. Yet, I am alive and well along with my family. What all of us here in Lancaster, NY have witnessed, is a Miracle. The tons of snow that was dumped on us in 2 days, was predicted to cause massive flooding. It did not. Because we experienced a slow thaw, right before our very eyes, the snow just seemed to disappear.

Even the local waters are already receding. I went out this afternoon to get some shots of local creeks, and to be truthful, was disappointed. The “drama” I had expected was not there. That is good news for the residences that live by these creeks, for no flooding happened as was foretold.

We all here are so relieved Winter Storm Knife is over, and we are trying to get back to a normal routine. This may take a few…
