5 Amazing Health Benefits of Cinnamon

TIME

Cinnamon is one of my feel-good foods. The scent reminds me of fall, my favorite time of year, and brings back memories of making apple pies with my mom, and celebrating the holidays.

While I’ve always been a fan of its flavor and aroma, as a nutritionist, I’m also thrilled to spread the news about cinnamon’s health benefits. For example, one teaspoon of cinnamon packs as much antioxidant potency as a half cup of blueberries, and cinnamon’s natural antimicrobial properties have been shown to fight strains of E. coli, as well as Candida yeast. Also, while technically not sweet, “sweet spices” like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger have been shown to boost satiety and mimic sweetness, which allows you to cut back on sugar in nearly anything, from your morning cup of joe to a batch of homemade muffins.

Stray dog who raced 430 miles to a better home: Arthur latched on to an extreme sports team during Amazon race – and what happened next will melt the hardest heart

WebInvestigator.KK.org - by F. Kaskais

ArthurAs Sweden’s Team Peak Performance prepared for a dangerous trek through the Amazon rainforest in Ecuador, they sat down for a meal. Mikael Lindnord then saw a scruffy, miserable-looking dog out of the corner of his eye and decided to give him a meatball. He thought nothing of it, but from then on, the dog refused to leave the team of four. As they navigated the final stages of the Adventure Racing World Championships the dog, they decided to name Arthur, hiked alongside them in knee-deep mud and even swam next to them as they kayaked in the dead of night.

Meet The Coconut Crab, The Monstrous Crustacean That Can Climb Any Tree It Wants

OMG  ———  By Michael Cahill THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS MIRACULOUS STORY!

When it comes to weird and terrifying sea creatures, giant crabs are the creepiest. However, there is another kind of giant crab living on land that technically wouldn’t make the list.

This creature is the coconut crab. Come to think of it, the fact that it lives on land probably makes it even more scary than its sea-dwelling cousins. It can terrorize you where you live.

The coconut crab is a species of hermit crab, but way bigger. They can grow to be up to 3 feet long, and weigh almost 10 pounds.

They’re also hearty creatures, and can live to be up to 60 years old.

The coconut crab gets its name from…

Last year we were more or less happy. We had hope that things were finally moving forward and that some key questions were being resolved. Dogs had enough food every day. We succeed in realizing several big projects, which literally pulled many dogs out of mud. Dog adoption was going better than ever and we managed to drastically reduce the number of dogs. We kept pushing each either forward like we had done from the beginning and telling each other that we cannot relax because there was a lot more to do ahead.

Despite the fact that we managed to create a little breathing room, there was still a lot of work and need to conitnue to collect resources. We finally felt some relief and for the first time things didn’t seem to be a hopeless battle. We were prepared for the winter with supplies of…

I Lived Through A Miracle (6 Images)

Connecting Beyond

Friends, as I write this, I am fighting severe exhaustion. Yet, I am alive and well along with my family. What all of us here in Lancaster, NY have witnessed, is a Miracle. The tons of snow that was dumped on us in 2 days, was predicted to cause massive flooding. It did not. Because we experienced a slow thaw, right before our very eyes, the snow just seemed to disappear.

Even the local waters are already receding. I went out this afternoon to get some shots of local creeks, and to be truthful, was disappointed. The “drama” I had expected was not there. That is good news for the residences that live by these creeks, for no flooding happened as was foretold.

We all here are so relieved Winter Storm Knife is over, and we are trying to get back to a normal routine. This may take a few…
