Where We Stand

Riding for Wildlife

Hey guys! Hope everyone is doing well and for those that were aware, enjoyed International Rhino Day, last week! If you follow any of the conservation based NGO’s (maybe?) you would have seen a lot of cool stuff going on. Anyway, this blog is based around where we stand, in regards to both the Riding for Wildlife charity, and global wildlife conservation.

So first, the charity. Riding for Wildlife finally has its own logo and hopefully soon will have a proper website up and running! Currently were still in the process of trying to promote the ride through other organisations and social media. As strange as it sounds, this part (which was the same for the last ride) is one of the hardest and most depressing parts of the ride. For every twenty emails sent, one might be returned, normally saying that they cannot help. But regardless of this, we…

BOISE IDAHO – A federal judge has ruled that the U.S. Bureau of Land Management once again violated federal laws when it issued grazing permits instead of analyzing how grazing could harm sage grouse in four allotments in south-central Idaho.

In a ruling released Monday, U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill found that the BLM failed to consider stopping grazing in any of the proposed management plans in the agency’s Burley Field Office.

The decision is round two of a lawsuit led by conservation group Western Watersheds Project that is challenging nearly 600 BLM grazing allotments spread across southern Idaho.

Winmill agreed that the BLM is allowed to…

Good News!! “Federal Judge Denies Wyoming’s Request To Regain Control of Wolf Management”

Howling For Justice

howlingwolfkewlwallpaersdotcom-1

Today, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson denied Wyoming’s desperate attempt to change her ruling, so the state could proceed with their precious wolf hunts! Too bad, hunters are going to have to get refunds on their wolf tags!

As of this moment it’s still illegal to kill a wolf in Wyoming. Thank you Judge Jackson, it feels so good to have a victory for wolves, even though I’m saddened that wolves in Montana and Idaho are being hunted and Minnesota and Wisconsin hunts are just around the corner. But today we can celebrate that Wyoming wolves will be safe from hunter’s bullets and will  no longer be treated as vermin, to be shot on sight in 80% of the state.

For all the wolves, For Wyoming wolves,

Nabeki
