Story : Never let go Hope

4 candlesThis is a story of four candles lit in a room. The ambiance was so soft you could hear them talking.

The first one said, “I am PEACE, however, nobody can keep me lit. I believe I will go out.” It’s flame rapidly diminishes and goes out completely.

The second one says, “I am FAITH. Most of all I am no longer indispensable, so it does not make any sense that I stay lit any longer.” When it finished talking a breeze softly blew on it putting it out.

Sadly, the third candle spoke in its turn. “I am LOVE. I have not gotten the strength to stay lit. People put me aside and don’t understand my importance. They even forget to love those who are nearest to them.” And waiting no longer it goes out.

Suddenly a child entered the room and saw three candles not burning. “Why are…

Anytime you can treat, prevent, or even eliminate a common modern medical problem with food or herbs, it’s exciting. Largely because we are so bombarded with toxic formulas for everything form a skinned knee to an upset stomach, these natural treatments are a breath of healing fresh air. One of the latest studies affirming the benefits of the easily-found ginger root indicates it may only take about a quarter-teaspoon of the food each day to significantly reduce inflammatory markers associated with Type 2 diabetes.

The American Diabetes Association estimates some 25.8 million U.S. adults and children have type 2 diabetes. That’s 8.3% of the population. It’s the leading cause of kidney failure, increases your risk of heart disease and blindness, and is one of the most common causes of limb amputation. Most important of all—it’s entirely preventable…

UN court exposes Japan‘s false pretence

Friday 4th April 2014

A worldwide campaign has led to Japan being ordered to stop all whaling, writes PETER FROST

The worldwide campaign to stop the bloody slaughter of some of our largest and most intelligent ocean creatures has secured a major victory but the struggle to save the whale must go on.

The United Nations International Court of Justice (ICJ) has ordered that the Japanese government immediately stops the slaughter of whales in Antarctic waters.

The UN court has declared that, despite long-term claims from Tokyo that the hunt was for scientific purposes, the true purpose was the commercial harvesting of whale meat for food and thus illegal under the 1986 International Moratorium on Whaling to which Japan is a signatory.

The case was brought to…

Seal Hunting in Canada …. white ice colored red!!

It Is What It Is

~~April 4, 2014~~

I strongly believe that there are topics that are difficult to talk about or see pictures. However, we can’t continue to keep our heads in the sand and pretend that this isn’t happening just because we don’t know. “Out of sight, out of mind“?

We need to be the voice for the voiceless, we need to champion those in need. Animals fall in that category. Our world has gone mad about the treatment animals receive. They aren’t on this earth for our uncontrolled consumption, entertainment or profit.

Every year, the Canadian government allows tens of thousands of BABY SEALS to be beaten to death. Most are killed at under 3 months.

Seal hunting, or sealing, is the personal or commercial hunting of seals. Seal hunting is currently practiced in six countries: Canada

New Whale Stranding Is Painful Evidence for Naval Sonar Risks

On April 1, while the U.S. and other navies played war games somewhere offshore, Cuvier’s beaked whales began stranding along the southern coast of Crete. Those on the scene knew right away what they were dealing with, for the strandings were only the most recent in a line of similar calamities in the region, going back two decades. And in this case, as in the previous ones, all signs pointed to the U.S. Navy and its allies.

Cuvier’s beaked whales are a remarkable species. They have the deepest recorded dives of all marine mammals, some descending an astonishing 9,500 feet (3,000 meters) below the water’s surface before coming up for air. Favoring deep water, they don’t strand nearly as often as coastal species, and they don’t strand in large numbers, and they don’t strand New Whale Stranding Is Painful Evidence…

Woody Harrelson Joins Campaign to Protect Elephants and End Cruel Blood Ivory Trade | One Green Planet

Life or Lunch?

574px-Woody_Harrelson_cropped_by_David_Shankbone-1039x800 Woody Harrelson is a favorite celebrity in the animal activism world. Not only is he a dedicated plant-based eater , but he’s also lent his voice and star status to a variety of animal causes in addition to environmental and humanitarian ones. In one word, Harrelson is awesome.

In a new effort to protect animals, Harrelson has joined forces with the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) and Humane Society International (HSI) to help end the cruel blood ivory trade which kills tens of thousands of elephants each year through poaching activities.

“No one needs ivory except for elephants. Up to 100 African elephants are brutally killed each day for their tusks. These highly intelligent keystone species are facing the greatest threat to their survival in history,” Harrelson said.

As a Hawaii resident, Harrelson will play a key role in amplifying the HSUS and HSI campaign as Hawaii…

‘Tainted horsemeat’ kills 5 in Philippines

Straight from the Horse's Heart

Source: Multiple

Horsemeat is not commonly eaten in the Philippines…”

Horse MeatCotabato – Five people are believed to have died from eating tainted horsemeat in the Philippines while as many as 60 may have consumed it, a local official said on Wednesday.

Four horses died from unexplained causes and their meat was given away to residents in the largely rural southern province Sultan Kudarat on March 25, Henry Albana, the province’s social welfare officer said.

Many fell ill after eating it, with the town of Senator Ninoy Aquino particularly affected, Albano added.

“The owners of the horses butchered them, then they distributed the meat to the residents. One of the owners was the first victim,” to die after eating the meat, said Albano.

“Provincial officials are trying to locate all the others who ate the horsemeat. I estimate that as many as 60 may have eaten it,” he told AFP.

Petition to stop the slaughter of ravens in Idaho

Exposing the Big Game

A couple of weeks ago, I came across a small news article explaining that the Idaho Department of Fish and Game had received a permit from the United State Dept. of Agriculture (I think it was Ag) to kill 4000 ravens. This is proposed under the guise of protecting the sage-grouse, which, I believe, is being added to the endangered species list. The sage-grouse does need protection but here’s the problem. There are 19 factors that have caused their populations to decline, most the result of human activity. Predation by other creatures is #12 and ravens are the only ones that have been singled out, although there are many. Killing ravens will do little if anything at all to mitigate the problems the sage-grouse face.

I was so upset that I took it on myself to create a petition and I hope some of you will consider signing it.
