What Supplements Does My Dog Need?

Dog Food Matters

Ideally, every nutrient your dog needs should be present in its dog food. However, nutritional research is generally far ahead of the dog food regulatory standards established by the Association of American Feed Control Officials (AAFCO). To gain marketing advantage, many dog food manufacturers are supplementing their foods, but with no AAFCO standards the amount of supplementation is variable and often times minimal.

My Journey to Taiji #tweet4taiji

Voice For The Blue

My journey to Taiji had been a year in the making. After consistently following the Cove Guardian campaign, in December of last year I made the commitment to join in the fight to be a voice for the dolphins. Becoming a Cove Guardian was an honor.

After my 30 hour trip of planes and airports I arrived in Osaka, Japan. A little bit of a culture shock for me, having only travelled within North America. Landing in a foreign country where I did not speak the language was a challenge at first, but the Japanese people are amazingly friendly and helpful!

After spending my first night in Osaka, I had the daunting task of taking the train to Taiji. I’ve never been on a train before, so having to switch trains multiple times and not being able to communicate properly, left me feeling a little stressed and nervous. Luckily, by chance…

Puppy Brings a Family Christmas Joy

Igor Purlantov

Like many Christmas presents, my dog Tucker came in a box.  A few years ago in Denver, three tiny newborn puppies, just hours old, were stuffed in a cardboard container like some old shoes and dumped off in front of an animal shelter without explanation — no note detailing what had caused the dog-dumper to lose his humanity, no apology for yanking the puppies away from their mother or for visiting tragedy on the first person to open the box.

STOP ANIMAL ABUSE

December 13, 2013 Posted by ADMIN in Available for Adoption

“I have long admired Eldad Hagar at www.hopeforpaws.org/; their rescue videos are just so inspiring. Their tenacity for rescuing dogs that others have just thrown out, is without doubt very admirable indeed! Below is another rescue video that brought me to tears; that turned into happy ones for a change!  Please help Hope For Paws in anyway you can!!”

Eldad Hagar’s heart broke when he sawMiley, a dog living in a pile of trash outside of LA. She was so ill and weak that she didn’t even try to run away. But because of a friendship she made with another rescued dog, she is doing worlds better today.

“When I got there, I almost couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” said Hope For Paws the founder. “It’s almost as if this place was struck by a…
